Substitute resolution establishing a contribution account for the acceptance of funds from BMO Harris Bank to support the annual City Vendor Fair.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Administration - Purchasing Division to accept and expend contributions from BMO Harris Bank totaling up to $5,000 in support of the Purchasing Division’s annual vendor fair. BMO Harris Bank has contributed $1,500 to date and may provide additional funding in the future.

Whereas, The third annual City Connect: City of Milwaukee Vendor Fair was held on May 28, 2026, at City Hall to connect businesses with government contracting opportunities, resources and community partners; and
Whereas, The 2026 Vendor Fair was organized by the Department of Administration - Purchasing Division, the Department of Compliance and Engagement, and the Department of City Development, in collaboration with Milwaukee County; and
Whereas, The Vendor Fair provided workshops and networking opportunities relating to public contracting, small-business certification, financing, workforce development and other resources intended to help businesses grow and build capacity; and
Whereas, BMO Harris Bank, which served as the Executive Sponsor of the 2026 Vendor Fair, has provided a $1,500 contribution to date to support costs associated with the 2026 City Connect: City of Milwaukee Vendor Fair; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Administration is authorized to accept and expend a contribution of up to $5,000 from BMO Harris Bank for costs associated with the annual City Connect: City of Milwaukee Vendor Fair, in accordance with established City policies and procedures; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon receipt and deposit of the contribution, the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to establish a special account within the Department of Administration - Purchasing Division’s budget for the expenditure of the contribution.
