This resolution confirms the report of the Commissioner of Public Works, as modified by the Common Council Committee, on projects for which Public Hearings have been held. The resolution authorizes the levying of special assessments and directs the installation and construction of said public improvements. Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions, determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct and levy special assessments for the following improvements:
5th Aldermanic District
W. Kaul Ave. - N. 112th St. to N. 113th St. (ST211260126). Install traffic calming speed hump(s). (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $1,075; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $7,125). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $8,200. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2026 construction season.
W. Langlade St. - N. 110th St. to N. 112th St. (ST211260121). Install traffic calming speed hump(s). (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $3,290; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $4,710). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $8,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2026 construction season.

N. 38th St. - W. Keefe Ave. to W. Capitol Dr. (ST211210166). File Number 240145: Concrete pavement reconstruction/asphalt pavement surfacing, replace curb and gutter, sidewalk, and driveway approaches where necessary, sodding (8’ width tree border area), grading, and tree removal where necessary. (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $117,000; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $1,043,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $1,210,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2026-2027 construction season.

This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2026 construction season.

This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2026 construction season.

(Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $6,370, Developer Paving Fund -- $1,430). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $7,800. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2026 construction season.
S. 18th St. - W. Lincoln Ave. to W. Becher St. (ST211210226). File Number 251489: Concrete pavement reconstruction, narrowing roadway, install permeable pavers in west side parking lane, replace all curb and gutter and driveway approaches, replace sidewalk as necessary, sodding (5’ width tree border area), grading, and tree removal where necessary. (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $48,420; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $891,580). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $1,250,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2026-2027 construction season.

Whereas, The report of the Commissioner of Public Works has been filed with the City Clerk; and
Whereas, Notices have been sent to all interested persons and public hearings held; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works’ Report, as amended at said Public Hearing, is approved and the properties therein identified are benefited; and, be it
Further Resolved, That said Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work in accordance with said report pursuant to Section 66.0703 and any other pertinent sections of the Wisconsin Statutes and in the manner directed by Section 115-42 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the proper departments take such action as is required of them to assess the abutting or adjacent properties and collect such assessment in the manner directed by Section 115-42 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the projects do not involve any parcels of agricultural land which are eligible for deferred special assessments under the provisions of Section 14.30 of the Milwaukee City Charter; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That projects W. Kaul Ave. (ST211260126), W. Langlade St. (ST211260121), N. 38th St. (ST211210166), W. Green Tree Rd. (ST211260129), N. 49th St. (ST211260134), S. 37th St. (ST211260127), W. Lakefield Dr. (ST211260128), S. 11th St. (ST211260136/ST214260102), S. 18th St. (ST211210226) will be billed after January 1, 2028, but not before 12 months after the project contract has been completed.
