Analysis

This resolution authorizes and directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a cost-sharing project agreement with the City of  Wauwatosa for programming and construction of North 124^th Street from West Ruby Avenue (extended) to West Hampton Avenue.

Body

Whereas, The City of Wauwatosa intends to repave North 124^th Street between West Ruby Avenue (extended) to West Hampton Avenue, a portion of which is in the City of Milwaukee; and

Whereas, The City of Wauwatosa is the lead agency for the project and will contract for the construction; and

Whereas, Each Municipality will pay for the actual cost of the roadway construction costs within its municipal boundaries; and

Whereas, The preliminary and construction engineering costs will be prorated based on the ratio of roadway area within the community over the total roadway area; and

Whereas, Funds for this project will be included in future resolutions; and

Whereas, The City of Wauwatosa Common Council approved the cost sharing agreement on June 7, 2003; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to execute the cost sharing agreement for the programming and construction of North 124^th Street from West Ruby Avenue (Extended) to West Hampton Avenue, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council resolution, and is incorporated in this resolution by reference as though set forth in full; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a future resolution with the City of Wauwatosa pertaining to cost participation for the installation and/or modification of traffic control facilities in conjunction with the improvement of North 124t^h Street from West Ruby Avenue (Extended) to West Hampton Avenue; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to install the traffic control and/or street lighting facilities necessary in conjunction with the North 124^th Street project, following the execution of the traffic control and/or street lighting agreements, the cost of which will be included in future resolution; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to approve and make periodic payment to the City of Wauwatosa upon receipt of invoices for the City's share of costs of the project.
