Resolution amending Common Council File 970788 relative to application, acceptance and funding of the 1998 Prevention Block Grant. (Health Department)
ANLS:
This resolution amends Common Council File 970788 relative to the 1998 Prevention Block Grant. The purpose of the grant is to assure access to cardiovascular program services through a coordinated community effort.
BODY:
Whereas, Common Council File 970788 authorized the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the 1998 Prevention Block Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services for the purpose of assuring access to cardiovascular program services through a coordinated community effort. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $122,265 and a City share total of $38,525; and
Whereas, The Grantor share for this program is decreased by $10,258; the in-kind City share is decreased by $3,676; and the total cost is decreased by $13,934; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept such a grant without further Common Council approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to encumber in the parent accounts of the 1997 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project/program titled 1998 Prevention Block Grant:

Further Resolved, That these funds are appropriated to the Health Department which is authorized to:

Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 1997 Positions Ordinance, Common Council File 961002, should be amended as follows:
HEALTH DEPARTMENT PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES DECISION UNIT Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Grant
Delete:
(1) Office Assistant II (.5 FTE)
Add:
(1) Office Assistant II (.25 FTE)
Amend footnote (I) as follows:
To expire 09/30/98 unless the Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Grant, available from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services, is extended. .4 FTE of Public Health Educator funded by O&M.
Further Resolved, That all standard resolved clauses articulated in Common Council File 971017 remain applicable.
