Title

A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2021 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:

Common Council - City Clerk, Health Department, Library, Port Milwaukee, Department of Public Works (Infrastructure Services Division, Operations Division, Water Works)

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Part 1, Section 2 of ordinance File Number 200536 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2021 - December 27, 2020):

 

Under Pay Range 2FX, add the title of “Workforce Grant Specialist”.

 

Part 2.  Part 1, Section 2 of ordinance File Number 200536 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 14, 2021 - June 27, 2021):

 

Under Pay Range 2DN, add the title of “Fatherhood Involvement Specialist 1 (1) (20)”.

 

Under Pay Range 2EN, add the title of “Fatherhood Involvement Specialist 2 (16) (33)”.

 

Under Pay Range 2FN, add the title of “Fatherhood Involvement Specialist 3 (9) (18)”.

 

Under Pay Range 2IN, amend footnotes “(1)” and “(6)” to read as follows:

 

“(1)                      Recruitment is at the following rate and may be at any point in the range with the approval of DER:

Part 3.  Part 1, Section 3 of ordinance File Number 200536 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 14, 2021 - June 27, 2021):

 

Under Pay Range 3BN, delete the titles of “Engineering Drafting Technician I” and “Engineering Technician I”.

 

Under Pay Range 3DN, add the titles of “Engineering Drafting Technician I (3)(6)” and “Engineering Technician I (3)(6)”, add new footnotes “(3)” and “(6)” to read as follows, and renumber footnotes accordingly:

Under Pay Range 5GN, add the title of “Health Accounting Assistant”.

 

Part 5.  Part 1, Section 7 of ordinance File Number 200536 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

 

Under Pay Range 7QN, delete footnote designation “(6)” and add footnote designation “(7)” to the title of “Bricklayer, Buildings (1)(6)”, delete footnote designation “(7)” and add footnote designation “(9)” to the title of “Landscape and Irrigation Specialist (2)(3)(7)(8)”, delete footnote designation “(9)” and add footnote designation “(10)” to the title of “Municipal Services Electrician Apprentice (4)(6)(9)(12)”, and delete footnote designation “(6) and add footnote designation “(7)” to the title of “Sewer Mason (1)(6)”.

 

Part 6.  Part 1, Section 7 of ordinance File Number 200536 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2021 - December 27, 2020):

 

Under Pay Range 7ON, delete footnote designation “(11)” and add footnote designations “(7)”, “(12)”, and “(14)” to the title of “Vehicle Services Technician (5)(11)”; add new footnotes “(7)” and “(14)” to read as follows, and renumber footnotes accordingly:

 

“(7)                      An employees who attains and maintains a CNG Inspector certification will receive an

additional 5% of their base rate.”

 

“(14)                      An employees who attains and maintains a CNG Inspector certification will receive an

 additional 5% of their base rate.”

 

Part 7.  Part 1, Section 9 of ordinance File Number 200536 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 14, 2021 - June 27, 2021):

 

Under Pay Range 9PN, add footnote designation “(3)” and delete footnote designation “(4)” from the title of “Engineering Intern (1)(4)”, add footnote designation “(1)” and delete footnote designation “(6)” from the title of “Transportation Operations Assistant (3)(6)”,  delete footnotes “(3)” and “(6)”, renumber footnotes accordingly, and amend footnotes “(1)” and “(3)” to read as follows, and

 

“(1) Recruitment is at the following rate:

 

Biweekly                     1,436.80

Annual                                          37,356.80”

 

“(3) Recruitment is at the following rate:

 

Biweekly                     1,479.90

Part 8.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 9.  The provisions of Part 4 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2020 (December 29, 2019).

 

Part 10.  The provisions of Parts 1, 6 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2021 (December 27, 2020).

 

Part 11.  The provisions of Parts 2, 3, and 7 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 14, 2021 (June 27, 2021).

 

The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.

 

Part 12.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
