Title

Resolution relative to application, acceptance, and funding of a COMPASS Traffic Data Demonstration Grant.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Department of Administration, Information Technology Management Division to apply for, accept and fund a COMPASS Traffic Data Demonstration Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation in the amount of $50,000.  The purpose of this project is to add traffic crash incident data to the existing COMPASS web application.

Body

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to elicit, assemble, categorize and blend traffic crash-related data into the COMPASS web application; and

 

Whereas, The Department of Administration Information, Technology Management Division will use its existing resources to add traffic crash incident data to the existing COMPASS web application; and

 

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 09/01/07 to 10/31/2008 would cost $50,000 provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is authorized and the Department of Administration, Information Technology Management Division shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in s. 304-81 of the Code; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

 

1.  Commit funds within the project/grant parent of the 2007 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects Fund the following amounts for the project titled COMPASS Traffic Data Demonstration Grant:

2.  Create the necessary grant and aid project/grant and project/grant levels, budget against these project grant values the amount required under the grant agreement;

and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That these funds are appropriated to the Department of Administration, Information Technology Management Division which is authorized to expend from the amount appropriated sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date.
