Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File #130226 relative to acceptance and funding of the Family Foundations Comprehensive Home Visiting Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Children and Families in the amount of $1,800,000 comprised of $900,000 (50%) grantor share and $900,000 (50%) City Share. The purpose of the grant is to serve families in need of services related to improving pregnancy outcomes, enhancing family functions, preventing child abuse and neglect and assuring child readiness for school. .

Whereas, Common Council Files #130226 authorized the Health Department to accept and fund the Family Foundations Comprehensive Home Visiting Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Children and Families for the purpose of improving pregnancy outcomes, enhance family functions, prevent child abuse and neglect and assure child readiness for school, This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $900,000 (50%) and City Share of $900,000 (50%) for a total of $1,800,000; and
Whereas, the total expenditures of this program is increased by $637,730 ($473,678 Grantor Share) for a total of $2,437,730 of which the grantor share is $1,373,678 (56%) and city share is $1,064,052 (44%); now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that application to the State of Wisconsin Department of Children and Families is authorized and the Health Department shall accept such a grant without further Common Council approval unless the terms of the grant changes as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2013 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amount for the project titled Comprehensive Home Visiting Grant:
