Analysis
This resolution authorizes and directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a revised project agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation WISDOT to include updated construction costs for the rehabilitation of the South Clement Avenue from South Whitnall Avenue to East Howard Avenue with Federal and State aid under the Surface Transportation Program. The total revised estimated construction cost for the project is $793,360, of which the City's share is $158,675. Construction funds will be included in a future Common Council resolution.

Whereas, Common Council Resolution File Number 040400, adopted on July 27, 2004, authorized and directed the Commissioner of Public works to execute a project agreement with WISDOT for the programming and rehabilitation of South Clement Avenue from South Whitnall Avenue to East Howard Avenue with Federal and State aid under the Surface Transportation Program; and
Whereas, Preliminary engineering activities have begun and the project scope has changed from a reconstruction project to a resurfacing project; and
Whereas, Due to the change in scope the construction costs for the paving project have decreased from the original agreement; and
Whereas, The revised project agreement with the updated construction costs has been received from the WISDOT to be executed by the City of Milwaukee for the design and rehabilitation of the South Clement Avenue from South Whitnall Avenue to East Howard Avenue with Federal and State aid under the Surface Transportation Program; and
Whereas, Construction funds for the project will be included in future resolutions; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to execute the revised project agreement for the design and rehabilitation of South Clement Avenue from South Whitnall Avenue to East Howard Avenue with Federal and State aid under the Surface Transportation Program, copies of which are attached to Common Council Resolution File Number 050408, and are incorporated by reference as though set forth in full; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to approve and make periodic payments to the WISDOT upon receipt of invoices for the City's share of the costs of the project.
