This substitute resolution authorizes the City of Milwaukee to participate at a level of 30 percent in the cost of right-of-way acquisition within the City of Milwaukee for the improvement of North 43rd Street from West Mill Road to West Good Hope Road. The City's share of right-of-way acquisition costs for the proposed improvement is estimated to be $78,000.
BODY:
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted Resolution File Number 85-1859 on March 4, 1986 approving the Milwaukee County Trunk Highway Capital Improvement Action Program and the County's financing policy of local municipalities participating in 30 percent of the cost of each County Trunk Highway improvement; and
Whereas, The improvement of North 43rd Street (CTH G) from West Mill Road to West Good Hope Road is listed in the Milwaukee County Highway Improvement Action Program for right-of-way acquisition in 1998 and construction in 1999 and Milwaukee County has requested City of Milwaukee participation in the costs for acquisition of the necessary right-of-way within the City of Milwaukee; and
Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 872315 on March 29, 1988 declaring the intent to participate in 30 percent of the right-of-way acquisition and construction costs and approving participation in the City of Milwaukee's 30 percent share of the project preliminary engineering cost; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the City of Milwaukee be authorized to participate at a level of 30 percent in the costs for right-of-way acquisition required within the City of Milwaukee as shown on the right-of-way plat indicated in the relocation order issued by the Milwaukee County Transportation and Public Works Committee on April 21, 1998, with both the right-of-way plat and the relocation order attached to Resolution File Number 980203 and, be it
Further Resolved, The City Comptroller is hereby authorized to create within the Capital Improvement Fund-Grant and Aids Projects, the necessary subaccount for this project and transfer to this account under City Accounting Policy the amount required for the City's share of right-of-way acquisition costs, but not to exceed a 10 percent increase in the amount set aside as follows:
