Substitute resolution acknowledging construction of a concrete retaining wall, a fence, a steel beam guardrail, and a stormwater detention chamber including ancillary facilities, all associated with access and improvement requirements to City of Milwaukee real property within the public right-of-way of North 54th Street, north of West State Street, in the 16th Aldermanic District in the City of Milwaukee.

This resolution acknowledges placement of a retaining wall, a chain link fence, a steel beam guardrail and a stormwater detention chamber including ancillary facilities, within the public right-of-way of North 54th Street, north of West State Street, which are associated with private roadway construction to serve City real estate at 5230 West State Street.

BODY:
Whereas, The Department of Public Works is constructing a private roadway leading from North 54th Street to the Forestry/Sanitation Field Headquarters at 5230 West State Street, north of West State Street for improved access; and
Whereas, Several items which are appurtenant to this roadway construction, which include a retaining wall, a chain link fence, a steel beam guardrail and a stormwater detention chamber including ancillary facilities, will be located within the public right-of-way of North 54th Street; and
Whereas, Placement of these facilities in the public right-of-way, although they are intended to serve real estate currently under the ownership of the City of Milwaukee, should be acknowledged by the Common Council; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that acknowledgement of the following is made:
1. Construction and maintenance of a concrete retaining wall with steel soldier piles within North 54th Street at the north/west side of a newly constructed private roadway leading to City real estate at 5230 West State Street. The retaining wall will be located approximately 650 feet north of West State Street.
2. Erection and maintenance of a 4-foot high chain link fence located 2 feet behind the concrete retaining wall, for the length of the retaining wall.
3. Erection and maintenance of a steel beam guardrail within North 54th Street at the south/east side of a newly constructed private roadway leading to City real estate at 5230 West State Street. The guardrail will be located approximately 650 feet north of West State Street.
4. Construction and maintenance of a stormwater detention chamber with ancillary facilities within North 54th Street located approximately 550 feet north of West State Street.
