Analysis
This ordinance increases fees and forfeitures effective January 1, 2013.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 60-9-1 and 2-a to c of the code is amended to read:
60-9. Asbestos Project Permit.
1. Review and inspection of permit application: [[$80]] >>$100<<.

a. For a period not exceeding 3 days of asbestos project work: [[$235]] >>$295<<.
b. For a period of 4 to 10 days of asbestos project work: [[$390]] >>$490<<.
c. For a period exceeding 10 days of asbestos project work: [[$540]] >>$675<< or [[1%]] >>1.25%<< of the total cost of the asbestos abatement project, whichever is greater.
Part 2. Section 60-15-2 of the code is amended to read:
60-15. Campground and Camping Resort Fees.
2. The annual fees for campgrounds and camping resorts shall be:

b. 26-50 sites: [[$100]] >>$215<<.

Part 3. Section 60-17-2 and 3 of the code is amended to read:

Part 5. Section 60-53-2 and 3 of the code is amended to read:
60-53. Laundry, Self-service Registration Certificate.

Part 6. Section 60-57-1 of the code is amended to read:
60-57. Masonry Building Cleaning, Sandblasting Permit. 1. The fee for each permit for each calendar day or partial calendar day for masonry building cleaning shall be [[$50]] >>$75<<.
Part 7. Section 60-58-2 and 4 of the code is amended to read:
60-58. Massage Establishment License.
2. The fee for each license shall be [[$235]] >>$300<<.
4. There shall be an additional fee for the filing of a late renewal application on or after March 1 of the following year in the amount of [[$50]] >>$100<<.
Part 8. Section 60-66 of the code is renumbered 60-66-1 and amended to read:
60-66. Noise Variance Permit.
1. The fee for application for a noise variance permit shall be [[$40]] >>$50<<.
Part 9. Section 60-66-2 and 3 of the code is created to read:
2. An application for a noise variance shall be filed between 7 to 14 days prior to the first day of the requested variance. An application filed less than 7 days prior to the first day of the requested variance shall be subject to a late application fee provided under sub 3.
3. There shall be an additional fee of $50 for filing a late application.
Part 10. Section 60-81-2, 5 and 7 of the code is amended to read:
60-81. Swimming and Other Water Use Facility Operating Licenses.
2. The fee for each swimming or other water use facility operating license shall be [[$205]] >>$250<<.
5. License renewals [[must]] >>shall<< be filed by July 1. There shall be an additional fee for the filing of a late renewal application in the amount of [[$27]] >>$50<<. If renewal applications are not sent out by June 15, the late penalty will be assessed 16 days after the applications have been sent.

Part 11. Section 60-81-4 of the code is repealed.

For new commercial buildings and structures, and for additions, square footage shall be calculated as defined in s. 200-08-86.2. For alterations, square footage shall be the square footage of the area to be altered. >>The plan examination fees for buildings and structures, additions and alterations involving hazardous occupancies shall be double the fees specified in the table.<<

Part 52. Section 200-33-37-0 and a of the code is amended to read:

Part 55. Section 200-33-42 of the code is amended to read:

Part 58. Section 200-33-43.5-b to f of the code is created to read:
b. The fee for posting a placard pursuant to s. 200-11-6 upon any single family premise shall be $60.
c. The fee for posting a placard pursuant to s. 200-11-6 upon any 2-or 3-family premise shall be $120.
d. The fee for posting a placard pursuant to s. 200-11-6 upon any premise with 4 or more residential units shall be $180.
e. The fee for posting a placard pursuant to s. 200-11-6 upon any commercial building not containing residential units shall be $180.
f. The placard posting fee shall be assessed and collected as a special tax against the real estate upon which the placard is posted and shall be a lien upon the real estate.
