Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works to apply for, accept and fund a Boulder Venture LLC Grant from Boulder Venture LLC in the amount of $47,000 with a City share of $0.00 and a grantor share of $47,000.  The purpose of the project is the installation of a new traffic control signal at the intersection of West Fond du Lac Avenue and West Ely Place in the 2^nd Aldermanic District.  This resolution also authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install a new traffic control signal at the intersection of West Fond du Lac Avenue and West Ely Place.  The traffic signal is being installed to accommodate increased traffic due to the Midtown Center.

Body

Whereas, Traffic control signals have been determined as necessary for safe operation of intersection of West Fond du Lac Avenue and West Ely Place due to the anticipated increase in traffic at the Midtown Center; and

Whereas, The total estimated combined cost of the installation and removal is $47,000, 100 percent of which is being provided by the developer of the Midtown Center, Boulder Venture LLC; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute the agreement with Boulder Venture LLC pertaining to the cost participation for the installation, maintenance and operation of a new traffic control signal at the intersection of West Fond du Lac Avenue and West Ely Place, a copy of which is attached to Common Council Resolution File Number 040867, and is incorporated in this resolution by reference as though set forth in full; and, be it

Further Resolved, That upon approval of this agreement, the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to install a new traffic control signal at the intersection of West Fond du Lac Avenue and West Ely Place; and, be it

Further Resolved, That upon approval of this agreement, the City Comptroller is hereby authorized to create within the Capital Grant and Aid Projects fund the appropriate Project/Grant Chartfield Value for this project; and transfer to these accounts the amount required under the agreement and City accounting policy.
