Analysis

This resolution rescinds various special privileges granted to direct sellers, who have not renewed their direct seller licenses for more than two consecutive years.

Body

Whereas, Direct sellers are required to obtain a special privilege if they operate from a pushcart, table, stand or other stationary apparatus within the public right-of-way; and

Whereas, Direct sellers are also required to obtain a Direct Seller License each year from the City Clerk License Division; and

Whereas, The files to be rescinded are for direct sellers who have not renewed their Direct Seller License for more than two consecutive years; and

Whereas, Rescinding these special privilege will allow for more efficient special privilege management; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the following special privilege resolutions are rescinded:

1.                     Common Council Resolution File Number 890291 granted to Polinske Novelties to sell items in the public right-of-way at three locations.

2.                     Common Council Resolution File Number 890330 granted to Norah Bertucci to sell items in the public right-of-way.

3.                     Common Council Resolution File Number 890702 granted to Terry Longo to sell items in the public right-of-way.

4.                     Common Council Resolution File Number 892504 granted to Thomas Boulet to sell items in the public right-of-way at four locations.

5.                      Common Council Resolution File Number 900808 granted to Essie Scott to sell items in the public right-of-way at one location.

6.                     Common Council Resolution File Number 920485 granted to Mohammed M. Jaber to sell items in the public right-of-way.

7.                     Common Council Resolution File Number 920954 granted to Samuel L. Sharpe to sell items in the public right-of-way.
