Title

A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2023 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:

All Departments, Department of Emergency Communications, Department of Neighborhood Services, Police Department, Port Milwaukee, Department of Public Works (Infrastructure Services Division, Operations Division, Sewer Maintenance Fund, Transportation Fund, Water Works)

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 220650 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 18, 2023 - August 20, 2023):

 

Under Pay Range 1IX, add footnote (8) to the title of “Tow Lot Manager” and amend footnote (6) to read the following:

 

(6)                     Recruitment is at:

 

                     Biweekly                      3,597.76

                      Annual                                           93,541.76

 

Part 2.  Part 1, Section 2 of ordinance File Number 220650 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 18, 2023 - August 20, 2023):

 

Under 2LX, amend the title of “Emergency Communications System Administrator (2)” to read “Emergency Communications Systems Administrator (2)”.

 

Part 3.  Part 1, Section 7 of ordinance File Number 220650 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 18, 2023 - August 20, 2023):

 

Under Pay Range 7EN, amend the title of “Industrical Machine Repair Mechanic 2 (2)” to read “Industrial Machine Repair Mechanic 2 (2)”, delete the title of “Port Operations and Maintenance Technician 3 (9)”, delete footnote (9) in its entirety, and renumber remaining footnotes accordingly.

 

Under Pay Range 7GN, add the titles of “Port Operations and Maintenance Technician 3 (10)” and “Electrical Worker (2)”, and add new footnote (10) to read:

 

(10)                      Recruitment is at:

 

                     Biweekly                      2,729.19

                      Annual                                           70,958.94

 

Under Pay Range 7JN, delete the titles of “Electrical Worker (1)” and “Building Construction Inspector 4 (10)”, delete footnotes (1) and (10) in their entirety, and renumber remaining footnotes accordingly.

 

Under Pay Range 7KN, add the title of “Building Construction Inspector 4 (1)”.

 

Under Pay Range 7MN, amend the title of “Industrial Machine Repairperson” to read “Industrial Machine Repairperson 5”.

 

Part 4.  Part 1, Section 8 of ordinance File Number 220650 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 18, 2023 - August 20, 2023):

 

Under Pay Range 8AN, amend footnote (8) to read the following:

 

(8)                     Employees who attain and maintain a CDL to be paid an additional 3% biweekly.

 

Under Pay Range 8DN, add footnote designation (2) to the title of “Yard Attendant” and add new footnote (2) to read:

 

(2)                     An employee to be compensated an additional 3% when assigned to perform Brine Operations duties

 

Under Pay Range 8EN, add footnote designation (8) to the title of “Sanitation Inspector 2” and add new footnote (8) to read:

 

(8)                     Employees will receive an additional 5% when performing special assignments.

 

Under Pay Range 8HN, delete footnote designations (2) and (3) from the title of “Special Equipment Operator I (2)(3)” and delete footnote (1) in its entirety.

 

Part 5.  Part 2, Section 5 of ordinance File Number 220650 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 18, 2023 - August 20, 2023):

 

Under Part 2, Section 5: Promotions and Special Pay Practices, A., delete the current chart and replace with the following:

 

See attached "Part 2, Section 5, A. Chart (Amended)".

 

Part 6.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 7.  The provisions of Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 18, 2023 (August 20, 2023).

 

The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.

 

Part 8.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
