Resolution approving and authorizing the proper City officials to execute two easement documents to allow the WE Energies to install a gas main in one easement and underground/aboveground utility facilities in the other, all to support the Pier Wisconsin development located at the east end of East Michigan Street extended, in the 4^th Aldermanic District.

Analysis

WE Energies has requested that the Port of Milwaukee grant them two easements on Port property, east of East Michigan Street extended to support the Pier Wisconsin development.  One easement will contain a gas main while the second easement will house underground utility facilities, for conduit and cables and aboveground electric pad-mounted transformers.

Body

Whereas, WE Energies has submitted two easements granting them the right to enter upon and across the Port of Milwaukee property located at the east end of East Michigan Street extended to install and maintain a gas main and underground and above-ground utility facilities that will allow WE Energies to serve the Pier Wisconsin development; and

Whereas, The terms of each easement are set out and attached to this file and approved as to content by the Harbor Commission; and

Whereas, The City Engineer has checked the legal description and location drawing and found them acceptable; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that each easement be approved, and the proper City officers be and they hereby are authorized and directed to execute the easements on behalf of the City of Milwaukee; and, be it

Further Resolved, That after these two easements have been fully executed by the proper City officers, all four copies of each easement shall be returned to the City Engineer so that We Energies can record said easements and provide the City with a recorded copy.
