Analysis

Resolution to authorize the City Engineer and Commissioner of Public Works to negotiate and enter into an agreement with the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation to undertake construction management on Federal/State Aid projects.

Body

Whereas, The City provides construction management services for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation on City of Milwaukee Federal/State Aid bridge and paving projects; and

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has agreed to reimburse the City for the Federal/State share of the labor and benefit cost incurred for construction management; and

Whereas, In 2002 in addition to the City's projects, the WISDOT has requested that the City provide construction management services on the Park East Freeway reconfiguration project, some of which will be 100% Federal/State funded; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Engineer and the Commissioner of Public Works are hereby authorized to negotiate and enter into an agreement with the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation to undertake construction management on City of Milwaukee Federal/State Aid projects, copies of which are attached to Common Council Resolution File Number 011472, and are incorporated in this resolution by reference as though set forth in full;

and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City will also perform construction management services for the WISDOT for their projects associated with the Park East Freeway reconfiguration at 100% State reimbursement; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is hereby authorized to create within the Capital Improvement Fund, Grant and Aid Projects, the necessary Project/Grant Chartfield Values for construction management services for the following projects (Expenditure) and transfer to any of these accounts the amount required under the grant agreement and City Accounting Policy but not to exceed a 10 percent increase of the total amounts reserved or $5,000, whichever is greater:
