Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and
Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:
3rd Aldermanic District
E. Hartford Ave. - N. Oakland Ave. to N. Downer Ave. (ST260260003) Installing protected bike lanes. (Nonassessable Bike Infrastructure Fund -- $80,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $80,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2026 construction season.
4th Aldermanic District
N. Harbor Dr. - E. Summerfest Pl. to E. Menomonee St. (extended) (SM499240032) File Number 250515: Installing stormwater trees. (Nonassessable Water Quality Fund -- $55,000, additional funds). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $265,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2026 construction season.

S. 1st St. - W. Chase Ave. to W. Lincoln Ave. (SM499250015) File Number 250289; Installing bioswales. (Nonassessable Water Quality Fund -- $20,000, additional funds). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $60,040.17. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2026 construction season.

Alley bounded by S. 24th St., Union Pacific Railroad, W. Morgan Ave., W. Verona Ct. / Alley bounded by W. Ohio Ave, W. Verona Ct., S. 22nd St., S. 24th St. (Northernly East-West leg) (SM499260005). Repairing alley. (Nonassessable Water Quality Fund -- $110,000). The total estimated cost of this project is $110,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2026 construction season.

Non-Intrusive Detection Grant 4 (ST320233410) File Number 221919: Construct traffic signal improvements at 15 intersections. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2026-27 construction seasons.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
