Title
Substitute ordinance to further amend the 2006 offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council.
Analysis
This substitute ordinance makes positions changes to the following departments: Department of Administration, Department of City Development, Fire Department, Health Department, Library, Police Department and the Department of Public Works-Operations Division
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 1 of ordinance File Number 050457 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under “Department of Administration, Budget and Management Division, Office of the Director", delete the position of “Emergency Government Coordinator (A)”, and add one position of "UASI Homeland Security Director (A)", and replace the text of footnote "(A)" with the following: “To expire 06/30/08 unless the Urban Areas Security Initiative Program Grant, available from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is extended.”
Under “Department of Administration Division, Budget and Management Division, Office of the Director” add footnote designation “(Y)” to one position of “UASI Homeland Security Director.”
Under “Department of City Development, General Management and Policy Development Decision Unit, Development Center”, add footnote designation “(Y)” to one position of “Permit and Development Center Manager”; under “Housing Rehab. & Development Services Section”, add footnote designation “(Y)” to one position of “Community Outreach Liaison (C)”; under “Community Planning and Development Services Decision Unit, Comprehensive Planning Division”, add footnote designation “(Y)” to one position of “Assistant Planning Director”; under "Geographic Information System Section" add footnote designation "(Y)" to one position of “Geographic Information Supervisor.”
Under “Fire Department, Supporting Services Decision Unit, UASI Grant", delete one position of “Battalion Chief, Fire (B)” and add one position of “Homeland Security Preparedness Chief (B)” and one position of “UASI Grant Intelligence Analyst (G)", and add footnote “(G)” to read as follows: “To expire 06/30/07 unless the Urban Areas Security Initiative Program Grant, available from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is extended” and amend footnote “(B)” to read as follows: To expire 06/30/08 unless the Urban Area Security Initiative Program Grant, available from the US Department of Homeland Security, is extended."
Under "Health Department, Disease Control and Prevention Division, Urban Areas Security Initiative Program Grant (FFF)", delete one position of "Public Health Educator (X)(FFF)" and add one position of "UASI Health Preparedness Coordinator (X) (FFF)", and amend footnote "(FFF)" to read as following: "To expire 06/30/08 unless the Urban Areas Security Initiative Program Grant, available from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is extended."
Under “Library, Administrative Services Decision Unit, Communications and Marketing Section”, add footnote designation “(Y)” to one position of “Marketing and Public Relations Officer.”
Under "Police Department, Intelligence Division", add the title “Urban Areas Security Initiative Program Grant (C)” and add one position of "UASI Terrorism Liaison Officer (Lieutenant of Detectives) (C)" and two positions of “UASI Intelligence Analyst (Police Officer) (H)”, and add footnote "(H)" to read as follows: "To expire 06/30/07 unless the Urban Areas Security Initiative Program Grant, available from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is extended” and add footnote "(C)" to read follows: "To expire 06/30/08 unless the Urban Areas Security Initiative Program Grant, available from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is extended"
Under “Department of Public Works, Operations Division, Fleet Services Section”, add footnote designation “(Y)” to one position of “Fleet Operations Manager.”
Part 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Part 3. The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after the first day of the first pay period following passage and publication.
Part 4. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
