Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $164,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $2,312,000.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable.  After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council.  The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $164,000 with the total cost estimated to be $2,312,000.

Body

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:

 

1st and 7th Aldermanic Districts

 

W. Capitol Dr. - 335 feet m/l east of N. 34th St. to N. 35th St. (SM494170010):  Relaying sanitary sewer.  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $12,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $152,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

4th Aldermanic District

 

N. 33rd St. - W. Clybourn St. to 250 feet north of W. St. Paul Ave. (SM495170037):  Relaying combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $53,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

6th Aldermanic District

 

N. 5th St. - N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. to W. Keefe Ave. (SM495170039):  Relaying combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $300,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

7th Aldermanic District

 

W. Ridge Ct. - N. Sherman Blvd. to 150 feet west of N. Sherman Blvd. (SM495170036):  Relaying storm sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $38,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

N. Sherman Blvd. (west side) - W. Roosevelt Dr. to 150 feet south of W. Capitol Dr. (SM495170032):  Relaying storm sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $354,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

N. Sherman Blvd. (east side) - Alley north of W. Roosevelt Dr. to 115 feet north of W. Ridge Ct. (SM495170038):  Relaying storm sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $208,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

8th Aldermanic District

 

W. Harrison Ave. - S. 27th St. to S. 28th St. (SM495170033):  Relaying combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $70,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

S. 29th St. - W. Grant St. to W. Lincoln Ave. (SM495170034):  Relaying combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $191,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

S. 30th St. - W. Grant St. to W. Lincoln Ave. (SM495170035):  Relaying combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $197,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

13th Aldermanic District

 

S. Austin St. - E. Norwich St. to 350 feet m/l south of E. Norwich St. (SM494170011):  Relaying sanitary sewer.  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $12,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $82,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

S. Burrell St. - E. Norwich St. to 350 feet m/l south of E. Norwich St. (SM494170012):  Relaying sanitary sewer.  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $12,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $82,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

E. Norwich St. - S. Burrell St. to S. Whitnall Ave. (SM494170013):  Relaying sanitary sewer.  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $12,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $235,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

Various Aldermanic Districts

 

N./S. 6th St. cable stay bridge and W. Vliet St. bridge over CPRW (BR100170109):  Epoxy overlay to the North and South 6th Street cable stay bridge sidewalks and West Vliet Street Bridge over CPRW.  (City Share Non-assessable Structure Fund -- $20,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $350,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
