Title
Substitute resolution approving a Law Enforcement and Security Agreement with the Milwaukee Brewers
Analysis
This resolution authorizes a Law Enforcement and Security Services Agreement between the City and the Milwaukee Brewers, covering the period March 1, 2011 through November 30, 2012, with an option to extend the agreement by mutual consent through November 30, 2014.
The agreement will require the Milwaukee Police Department to schedule Police Aides, Police Officers, Sergeants and Lieutenants to work at events taking place at Miller Park. The Milwaukee Brewers will reimburse the Police Department for the wages earned by members at Miller Park.
The estimated value of this agreement is $1,000,000 per year.

Whereas, The City, acting through its Chief of Police, and the Milwaukee Brewers entered into a Law Enforcement and Security Services Agreement authorized pursuant to Common Council File Number 061452, adopted March 22, 2007, and that agreement expired on October 31, 2009; and
Whereas, On March 3, 2009, the Common Council adopted File Number 081426 extending the 2008/09 agreement, and that agreement expired on October 31, 2010; and
Whereas, The parties desire to authorize a new agreement for the period March 1, 2011 through November 30, 2012, with an option to extend through November 30, 2014; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, the Law Enforcement and Security Services Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Brewers, a copy of which is attached to this file, is approved; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2011 Special Revenue-Grant And Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled “Milwaukee Brewers”:

2. Create the necessary Grant Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement.

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted for the Police Department which is authorized to expend from the amount budgeted for specific purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date.
