ANLS:
This resolution amends Common Council File #970798 relative to application, acceptance and funding of an Interlibrary Services Grant. The purpose of the grant is to provide for the loan of library materials and information to other libraries in the State of Wisconsin in answer to specific requests.
BODY:
Whereas, Common Council File #970798 authorized the Milwaukee Public Library to apply for, accept and fund an Interlibrary Services Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and the Milwaukee County Federated Library System (MCFLS)for the purpose of loaning library materials. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $57,100 and a City share total of $20,577; and
Whereas, The Grantor share for this program is increased by $28,000; the in-kind City share is increased by $9,570; and the total cost is increased by $37,570; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and MCFLS is authorized and the Milwaukee Public Library shall accept such a grant without further Common Council approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to encumber in the parent accounts of the 1997 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project/program titled "Interlibrary Services Grant":

Further Resolved, That these funds are appropriated to the Milwaukee Public Library which is authorized to:

2. Expend from the 1997 grant budget funds for training and out-of-town travel by departmental staff; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 1998 Positions Ordinance should be amended as follows:

Amend footnote (H) as follows:
To expire 06/30/98 unless the Interlibrary Services Grant, available from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and MCFLS, is extended. Positions are authorized only as reflected in the grant agreement as approved by the Grantor Agency; and, be it
Further Resolved, That all standard resolved clauses articulated in Common Council File #970798 remain applicable.
