A substitute ordinance to amend reimbursement allowances and compensation for public members of certain city boards.
BODY:
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
 
Part 1. Section 1 of ordinance File Number 990705 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 1999 - December 27, 1998):
 
Delete Pay Range 047 and recreate it as follows:
 
"Pay Range 047

1/ To receive the same percentage increases as approved for management and nonmanagement/nonrepresented positions."
 
Part 2. Section 1 of ordinance File Number 990705 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby further amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2000 - December 26, 1999):
 
Delete Pay Ranges 030 through 047 and recreate them as follows:

Part 3. Section 8 of Part II of ordinance File Number 990705 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2000 - December 26, 1999):
 
In the first paragraph:
 
Delete the amount of $15.00 per meeting and insert $20.00 and delete the amount $300.00 per year and insert $400.00 per year.
 
Delete the fourth paragraph and recreate it as follows:
 
"To simplify the payment of reimbursement allowances for public members of eligible boards, such payments shall be made once each year. At the end of the year each board chairman shall submit to the Comptroller's Office a list of public members eligible for such reimbursement payments together with a record of the number of meetings each public member has attended during that calendar year. Reimbursement shall be made at the end of the calendar year or when administratively feasible in the subsequent year."
 
Under the list of public members of City boards eligible for a reimbursement allowance, delete "Employes' Retirement System, Annuity and Pension Board."
 
Under "Board of Assessment", delete the rate of "$50" per meeting and insert "$60."
 
Under "Administrative Review Appeals Board", delete the rate of "$50" per meeting and insert "$60."
 
Part 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
 
Part 5. The provisions of Part 1 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 1999 (December 27, 1998).
 
The provisions of Parts 2-3 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2000 (December 26, 1999).
 
Part 6. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
