Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $119,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $3,740,000.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable.  After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council.  The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $119,000 with the total cost estimated to be $3,740,000.

Body

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:

 

3rd Aldermanic District

 

N. Lake Dr. - E. Locust St. to E. Newport Ave. (SM495220018) Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $20,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $2,083,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.

 

5th Aldermanic District

 

W. Good Hope Rd. - N. 107th St. to N. 124th St.  (SM499200015) File Number 201065: Installing bioswales. (Stormwater Quality -- Non-Assessable Water Quality Projects to meet TMDL Requirements - additional funds $10,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $160,000. The project is anticipated to be completed during the 2022 construction season.

 

6th Aldermanic District

 

W. Concordia Ave - N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. to N. 6th St. (SM495220017) Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay

Fund -- $12,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $226,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.

S. 30th St. - W. Orchard St. to W. Lapham St. (SM495220016) Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $228,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.

 

12th Aldermanic District

 

1223 S. 15th Pl. City of Milwaukee Parking Lot (SM499220014) Installing bioswales. (Stormwater Quality -- Non-Assessable Water Quality Projects to meet TMDL Requirements -- $20,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $130,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.

 

14th Aldermanic District

 

E. Linus St. - S. Kinnickinnic Ave. to S. Logan Ave. (WT410230698) Relaying water main and lead replacement of service.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $1,000.  Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $29,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $450,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.

 

15th Aldermanic District

 

N. 14th St. - W. Cherry St. to W. Walnut St. (SM495220015) Combined sewer relay and lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $463,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2022 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
