Substitute ordinance to further amend the 1998 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council.
BODY
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 2 of ordinance File Number 970830 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Salary Grade 004, add the title "Field Operations Inspection Specialist."
Under Salary Grade 006, delete the title "CDBG Fiscal Analyst-Senior" and add the newly-created title "Health Enforcement Specialist."
Under Salary Grade 013, delete the title "Sewer Services Engineer" and add the title "Sewer Services Manager." Under Salary Grade 016, delete the title "Infrastructure Operations Manager" and add the title "Infrastructure Field Operations Manager.

Water Microbiologist Water Plant Chemist 1/ 1/ Upon attaining certification as a licensed certified water plant operator, the incumbent would advance one step in the pay range. If at the maximum step will be advanced one step to $1,419.03 biweekly. Part II of ordinance File Number 970830 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 3, 1998 - January 25, 1998):In Section 2, under the paragraph entitled "Promotions or Reallocation Pay Increase" after each reference to $5.00 biweekly" add the wording "($10 biweekly for employees represented by District Council 48 and non-management, nonrepresented employees.)"In Section 7, in the second paragraph, delete the dates "1996-1997" wherever they appear.
Part 30. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Part 31. The provisions of Parts 2 through 8, 16, 18 and 27 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 1997 (December 29, 1996).
The provisions of Part 9 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 23, 1997 (November 2, 1997).The provisions of Parts 10 through 15, 17, 19, 20 and 28 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 1998 (December 28, 1997).
The provisions of Part 21 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 2, 1998 (January 11, 1998).
The provisions of Parts 22 through 26 and 29 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 3, 1998 (January 26, 1998).
The provisions of all other parts of this ordinance are deemed to be in effect from and after the first day of the first pay period following passage and publication.
Part 32. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication
