Substitute ordinance to further amend the 2000 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council.
BODY:
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 2 of ordinance File Number 990705 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Salary Grade 007, add the title "Plant Automation Specialist."
Part 2. Section 20 of ordinance File Number 990705 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 1998 - December 28, 1997):
Under Pay Range 853, add the footnote designation "2/" following the title "Heavy Equipment Operator" with the footnote to read: "2/ Employees who are promoted from the Firefighter classification to the Heavy Equipment Operator classification shall be appointed at the top pay step."
Under Pay Range 856, add the footnote designation "1/" following the titles "Fire Paramedic Field Lieutenant", "Paramedic Lieutenant" and "Paramedic Field Lieutenant." Delete the existing footnote "1/" in its entirety and substitute the following: "1/ Employees promoted from the Firefighter classification to the Administrative Fire Lieutenant, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Paramedic Field Lieutenant, Paramedic Lieutenant, or Paramedic Field Lieutenant classifications shall be appointed at the fourth pay step."
Part 3. Section 2 of ordinance File Number 990705 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby further amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2000 - December 26, 1999):
Under Salary Grade 007, delete the title "Equipment Operations Manager 1/" and add the title "Parking Financial Manager."
Under Salary Grade 008, delete the title "Parking Operations Manager."
Under Salary Grade 009, add the title "Operations and Dispatch Manager 4/" and add footnote "4/" to read: 4/ The incumbents of positions in this class, if certified by the Commissioner of Public Works as being, when appropriate, regularly involved in snow and ice operations which result in an excessive amount of overtime work, to receive 4.8% additional biweekly compensation for such overtime work.
Under Salary Grade 010, add the title "Parking Enforcement Manager."
Part 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinance contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Part 5. The provisions of Part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 1998 (December 28, 1997).
The provisions of Part 3 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2000 (December 26, 1999).
The provisions of all other parts of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after the first day of the first pay period following passage and publication.
Part 6. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
