This resolution provides for general engineering functions including planning, preliminary and final designs, estimates, reports and expansion and revision related to underground conduit projects affected by the 1998 City paving and non paving program projects. These conduit program projects are for the purpose of Communications, Traffic Control, and Street Lighting facilities in various Aldermanic Districts.
 
 
BODY:
Whereas, A program for general engineering, expansion and revision of the Underground Electrical Conduit and Manhole System facilities affected by the 1998 City paving and non paving programs was prepared by the Environmental Engineering Section; and
 
Whereas, The funds required for this program of projects were appropriated in the 1998 Capital Improvement budget of the Department of Public Works; and
 
Whereas, These projects are part of the total budgeted program; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works be and is hereby authorized and directed to undertake the following Capital Improvement projects; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the Comptroller's Office is authorized and directed to transfer the following amounts from the budget, Account Number 31-072-0001, to the general purpose subaccounts indicated below, said amounts being a portion of the funds authorized (as shown) for the purpose indicated:
 
Type of Project:  General Engineering in conjunction with planning preliminary and final designs, estimates and reports related to the underground electrical conduit system facilities in conjunction with the 1998 annual improvement program
