Title

Resolution approving the Land Disposition Report for the Redevelopment Authority properties at 1620, 1626 and 1634 West Fond du Lac Avenue for sale to GESTRA Engineering, Inc. for commercial development, in the 15th Aldermanic District.

Analysis

This resolution will permit the Redevelopment Authority to convey said land according to the conditions in the Land Disposition Report.

Body

Whereas, On November 23, 2004, by adoption of File No. 040656, the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee declared the City-owned properties at 1626 and 1634 West Fond du Lac Avenue surplus to municipal needs and authorized conveyance to the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee (“Redevelopment Authority”) for marketing according to the established criteria; and

 

Whereas, The Redevelopment Authority advertised a Request for Proposal, received and reviewed proposals and recommends acceptance of the proposal from GESTRA Engineering, Inc. for redevelopment of the property into its corporate headquarters; and

 

Whereas, On December 14, 2006, the Redevelopment Authority held a Public Hearing on the proposed land sale as required by Wisconsin Statutes; and

 

Whereas, Pursuant to Wisconsin Statues and as a condition precedent to the sale, lease or transfer of land, the Redevelopment Authority submits herewith a Land Disposition Report describing the terms and conditions of the proposed sale; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Land Disposition Report dated December 14, 2006, with respect to the proposed sale of the following properties, is approved:

Blight Elimination

 

PARCEL ADDRESSES

 

1620 West Fond du Lac Avenue

 

1626 West Fond du Lac Avenue

 

1634 West Fond du Lac Avenue

 

REDEVELOPER

 

GESTRA Engineering, Inc.

 

; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the proper City officials are directed to execute an Emerging Business Enterprises Agreement with the Redeveloper and any other City of Milwaukee easements or documents necessary to close the transaction; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the sale proceeds, less sale expenses and a 25 percent development fee to the Redevelopment Authority, shall be deposited in the General Fund.
