Title
Resolution authorizing the acceptance and funding of the 2014 Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training Grant from the Environmental Protection Agency through the Community Development Grants Administration.
Analysis
This resolution allows the City of Milwaukee to accept funding from the Environmental Protection Agency - FY 2014 Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training Grant in the amount of $200,000.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has been awarded grant funds from the Environmental Protection Agency - FY 2014 Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training Grant in the amount of $200,000; and
 
Whereas, The Job Training Program plans to train 80 students, and place 64 graduates in environmental occupations; and
 
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 08/01/2014 through 07/31/2017 would cost $250,000 of which $50,000 would be provided by the local share and $200,000 would be provided as the grantor share; now therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Community Development Grants Administration shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
 
1.  Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2014 Special Revenue - Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled: "FY 2014 Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training Grant":

2.      Create the necessary Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement; and
 
3.      Establish the necessary City Chare Project Values; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted through the Community Development Grants Administration which is authorized to:
 
1.      Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;
 
2.      Expend from the 2014 grant budget funds for specific items of equipment;
 
3.      Enter into subcontracts and leases as detailed in the grant budget.
