Resolution relative to the cost participation and installation of traffic control devices on W. Lloyd Street from N. 47th Street to N. 46th Street in the 17th Aldermanic District. (Infrastructure Services Div.)
ANLS:
- Analysis - This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install the necessary traffic control facilities in conjunction with a Federal/State Aid cost participating highway improvements contract with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
BODY:
Whereas, The Federal Surface Transportation Program-Safety provides cost participation for traffic control improvements at locations having accident reduction potential; and
Whereas, Common Council Resolution File Number 970107, adopted May 13, 1997 authorized and directed the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an agreement for programming and construction of traffic control improvements at two locations under the 1997-1998 Surface Transportation Program-Safety; and
Whereas, The total estimated cost of this project is $15,000 for the installation and/or the modification of traffic control facilities; and
Whereas, Ten percent of the participating project cost or $1,500 is non-reimbursable and is included in the Division's 1998 Capital Purpose Account #32-550-0001; and
Whereas, Ninety percent of the participating project cost or $13,500 is reimbursable from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and this amount is not included in Division accounts, and should be earmarked for this project in the 1998 Capital Grant and Aid Projects Fund 32-010-0000; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute a contract with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation pertaining to the cost participation for the installation and/or modification of traffic control facilities on W. Lloyd Street from N. 47th Street to N. 46th Street with approved unit prices based on a predetermined estimate prepared under the Federal/State aided highway program; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon approval of this contract, the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to install and/or modify the traffic control facilities at the location identified below; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon approval of this contract, the City Comptroller is hereby authorized to create within the Capital Grant and Aid Projects Fund the appropriate sub-account for this project and transfer to this sub-account the amounts required under the contract provisions but not to exceed a ten percent increase in those amounts set aside for the Grantor's Share and the City's Share as follows:
