Resolution authorizing acceptance and funding of an ATF/Milwaukee Firearms Trafficking Task Force.

Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept an ATF/Milwaukee Firearms Trafficking Task Force grant from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives in an amount of $54,404 with a city share of $-0- and a grantor share of $54,404. The purpose of this grant is to fund overtime expenses for the joint ATF/Milwaukee Firearms Trafficking Task Force.

Body:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for ATF/Milwaukee Firearms Trafficking Task Force grant funds from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 10/01/05 to 9/30/06 would cost $54,404, of which 100% would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department is authorized to accept the grant without further approval unless its terms change as indicated in Common Council File 030712; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2005 Special Revenue-Grant
and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled: ATF/Milwaukee Firearms Trafficking Task Force:

2. Create the necessary Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amounts required under the grant agreement;

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted for the Milwaukee Police Department which is authorized to:
1. Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the project budget and incur costs consistent with the award date.
