TITLE
Resolution authorizing the issuance of a permit to VJS Construction allowing occupancy of the public alleys abutting the north and the east sides of the Hotel Wisconsin located at 720 North Old World Third Street.
ANALYSIS
This resolution authorizes City officials to issue an occupancy permit to VJS Construction allowing the company to occupy two sections of alley in the block bound by North Old World Third Street, North 2nd Street, West Wells Street, and West Wisconsin Avenue. The affected sections of alley abut the north and east sides of the Hotel Wisconsin which is located at 720 North Old World Third Street. The company would occupy the two sections of alley in conjunction with its rehabilitation work on the hotel. The hotel structure covers its entire site. No on-site land is available for materials storage or for the removal of construction debris. Therefore, VJS has requested permission to occupy the alleys abutting the hotel for these purposes. Occupancy is expected to last for about one year.
