Title
Resolution approving an extension to the Law Enforcement Special Assignment Grant Agreement with the Bradley Center.

Analysis
This resolution authorizes an extension to the Law Enforcement Special Assignment Agreement between the Milwaukee Police Department and the Bradley Center. That agreement was originally entered into on July 1, 2002 authorized pursuant to Common Council File No. 011573 adopted April 23, 2002. Pursuant to this agreement, subsequent agreements could be entered into for additional two year terms by mutual agreement in writing between the Milwaukee Police Department and the Bradley Center. This extension will extend the agreement for the period October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2017 and increase the amount to $300,000.

Whereas, The City, acting through its Chief of Police, and the Bradley Center Sports and Entertainment Corporation entered into a July 1, 2002 Law Enforcement Special Assignment Grant Agreement authorized pursuant to Common Council File No. 011573 adopted April 23, 2002; and

Whereas, The term of the latest agreement expired on September 30, 2015; and

Whereas, The Common Council agreed in Common Council File No. 130841 adopted November 5, 2013 that the 2013/15 agreement could be extended in writing through mutual agreement; and

Whereas, The parties desire to further extend the term of that agreement for an additional two year period ending on September 30, 2017 and increase the agreement amount to $300,000; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the mutual extension letters to the Law Enforcement Special Assignment Grant Agreement attached to this file to extend the agreement for an additional two years is approved and that the Chief of Police is authorized to extend the agreement on behalf of the City of Milwaukee; and be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2015 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled: Law Enforcement Special Assignment Grant Agreement for the Bradley Center

2. Create the necessary Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement;

Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date.
