Title
Resolution authorizing the modification of traffic signals at the intersections of West Clybourn Street with North 16th Street and West Clybourn Street with North 13th Street in conjunction with Marquette Interchange reconstruction. (Infrastructure Services Division)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to modify traffic signals at the intersections of West Clybourn Street with North 16th Street and West Clybourn Street with North 17th Street in conjunction with the first stage of reconstruction of the Marquette Interchange. Funding for the construction of the street lighting improvements is to be provided by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation under the Federally funded State Highway Improvement Program as part of the interchange project.
Body
Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is reconstructing the Marquette Interchange of IH 94, USH 41, IH 43, and IH 794 under the State Highway Improvement Program; and,
Whereas, The Interchange reconstruction project provides cost participation for the traffic control signal improvements; and,
Whereas, The total estimated cost of the traffic control signal improvements included as part of this project is $32,705.49; and,
Whereas, A maximum of ten percent of the participating project cost, or $3,270.55, is non-reimbursable and is included in the Division's 2003 Capital Purpose Account, Project/Grant Number ST320030000; and,
Whereas, A minimum of ninety percent of the participating project cost or $29,434.94, is reimbursable from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and should be earmarked for this project in the 2003 Capital Grant and Aid Projects Account, Project/Grant Number SP032030100; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute a contract with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation pertaining to the cost participation for the modification of traffic signals at the intersections of West Clybourn Street with North 16th Street and West Clybourn Street with North 13th Street with unit prices based on a predetermined estimate prepared under the Federal/State aided highway program, a copy of which is attached to Common Council Resolution File Number 030801, and is incorporated in this resolution by reference as though set forth in full; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon approval of this contract, the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to modify traffic control signals in conjunction with the paving of these Federal/State aided highway improvements; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon approval of this contract, the City Comptroller is hereby authorized to create within the Capital Grant and Aid Projects Fund the appropriate Project/Grant Chartfield Value for this project; and transfer to these accounts the amount required under the agreement and City accounting policy, but not to exceed a ten percent increase of the total amounts reserved for the grantor's share and local share of $5,000, whichever is greater, as follows:
