Title

Substitute resolution amending Common Council File # 200258 relative to acceptance and funding of the Wisconsin Well Woman Program Grant from the State of Wisconsin - Department of Health Services.

 

Analysis

This resolution amends Common Council File # 200258 authorizing the Health Department to accept and fund the Wisconsin Well Woman Program Grant from the State of Wisconsin - Department of Health Services. The project will provide screening and lifestyle interventions to women ages 35 - 64 who are eligible for the Wisconsin Well Woman Program (Milwaukee Breast and Cervical Cancer Program). 

 

BODY

Whereas, Common Council File # 200258 authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the Wisconsin Well Woman Program Grant from the State of Wisconsin - Department of Health Services for the purpose of providing screening and lifestyle interventions to low-income and under-served women 35-64 years of age. This grant provides a grantor share in the amount of $650,000 with no city match.

 

Whereas, the operation of this grant project from 07/01/20 to 06/30/21 would cost $555,000, and from 10/01/20 to 09/30/21 would cost $95,000 total cost $650,000 provided entirely by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that acceptance of this grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

 

1.  Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent of the 2020 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the program titled Wisconsin Well Woman Program Grant:

2.  Create the necessary Special Revenue Fund - Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant levels; budget to these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:

 

1.                         Expend from the amount appropriated sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;

 

2.         Expend from the grant budget funds for specific items of equipment;

 

3.         Expend from the grant budget funds for training and out-of-town travel by departmental staff; and

 

4.                         Enter into subcontracts as specified in the grant budget. 

 

Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 2020 Positions Ordinance C.C. File Number 190614, should be amended as follows:
