Analysis
Currently the fee for temporary traffic signs (such as no parking) for special events-city services is $16 for each sign installed.  This ordinance requires that the commissioner of public works establish a fee for this service to include relating to the removal of temporary traffic signs within 2 hours after the conclusion of the special event, based on all direct and indirect costs, and a similar fee (currently no fee) relating to removal of parking meter hoods.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
 
Part 1.  Section 81-82-0 of the code is amended to read:
81-82.  Parking Meter [[Permanent]] Removal>> or Temporary 
Hooding <<.
 
Part 2.  Section 81-82-3 of the code is created to read:
3.  TEMPORARY HOODING.  The fee for temporary hooding of each parking meter per day shall be $6.
 
Part 3.  Section 81-114.6-5-e of the code is repealed and recreated to read:
81-114.6  Special Events - City Services.
5.  Provision of additional services:
e.  Temporary traffic signs:  a fee sufficient to recover all costs, both direct and indirect, relating to the installation and removal of such signs.  Signs shall be removed by the city within 2 hours after the conclusion of a special event.
 
Part 4.  Section 81-114.6-5-f of the code is renumbered 81-114.6-5-g.
 
 
Part 5.  Section 81-114.6-5-f of the code is created to read:
f.  Temporary Hooding of Parking Meters.  In addition to the fee imposed under s. 81-82-3, a fee sufficient to recover all costs, both direct and indirect, relating to removal of parking meter hoods within 2 hours after the conclusion of a special event.
