Resolution readopting, approving and ratifying prior Housing Authority resolutions
Analysis
Body
WHEREAS, in Article III, Section 4 the Bylaws of the Housing Authority state:
“Quorum. At all meetings of the Authority, a majority of the Commissioners of the Authority shall constitute a quorum for the purpose of transacting business; provided, however, that a smaller number of Commissioners may meet as a committee for consideration of Authority matters, such matters to be reconsidered when a quorum is attained for the purpose of transacting business, or adjourn to some other time or until a quorum is present.”; and
WHEREAS, Section 66.1201(5)(b) Stats states that “Three (3) Commissioners constitute a quorum, except that in an authority with seven (7) Commissioners, four (4) Commissioners constitute a quorum.”; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee conducted meetings at which three (3) Commissioners were present during 2022, 2023, and 2024; and
WHEREAS, a list of those meetings and the Resolutions adopted at those meetings is attached; and
WHEREAS, in order to clarify the status of actions taken at meetings at which three (3) Commissioners were present, the Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee desire to readopt, approve and ratify the Resolutions set forth on the attachment; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee further desire to approve, ratify and confirm in all respects all acts previously performed relative to such Resolutions by the Executive Secretary-Executive Director and by Housing Authority staff;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee that all Resolutions set forth on the attachment are hereby readopted, approved and ratified; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all acts previously performed relative to such Resolutions by the Secretary Executive Director of the Housing Authority and Housing Authority staff be and hereby are approved, ratified and confirmed in all respects.
