Title

Substitute resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to implement the advanced street lighting control and monitoring system pilot test system.

Analysis

This substitute resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to deploy, or engage a consultant to deploy, the advanced street lighting control pilot test system.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council has previously authorized the Commissioner of Public Works to design the advanced street lighting control project; and

 

Whereas, The design phase of the project is finished and is ready for deployment of the pilot test system; and

 

Whereas, The pilot project will consist of the pad mounted street lighting enclosure located at 9216 West Bluemound Road, the above ground substation at the northwest corner of the intersection of West Adler Street and South 84th Street, a remote hub located in Engine House Number 28 at 424 North 30th Street and the main controller in the Electrical Services field operations headquarters at 1540 West Canal Street; and

 

Whereas, The pilot test system will prove and start to implement the concepts of the design; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized to undertake or engage a consultant to undertake the construction of the pilot test system of the street lighting control system; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller has previously been authorized and directed by the Common Council to create within the Capital Improvement Fund the necessary Project/Grant Chartfield values for this project, and to transfer to these accounts the amount required for this project and City Accounting Policy, but not to exceed a 10% increase in the total amount reserved for this project or $5,000, whichever is greater, as follows:
