Title

Resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a revised project agreement titled “State Municipal Agreement for a State-Let Highway Project” with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the improvement of South 84th Street, Glenview Avenue (STH 181) from West Blue Mound Road to I94.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a revised project agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming, design and construction of South 84th Street from West Blue Mound Road to I94 with State and Federal aid under the State Highway Rehabilitation Program.

Body

Whereas, A project agreement has been executed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the City of Milwaukee for the improvement of South 84th Street from West Blue Mound Road to I94 using State and Federal Aid under the State Highway Rehabilitation Program, in accordance with the Common Council Resolution File Number 150954, adopted November 24, 2015; and

 

Whereas, The Glenview Avenue Bridge over the Honey Creek lies within the project limits and is in a condition that warrants rehabilitation; and

 

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation and City of Milwaukee are recommending the rehabilitation be done in conjunction with the paving project; and

 

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has created a separate project identification number to track the design of the bridge over the Honey Creek separate from the roadway portion of the project; and

 

Whereas, The design of the bridge will be undertaken by the City of Milwaukee’s Structural Engineering Section and funded 100% by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation; and

 

Whereas, A revised project agreement including the new bridge project identification number has been received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation; and

 

Whereas, Construction funds for the South 84th Street from West Blue Mound to I94 project will be set-up in a separate resolution; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute the Revised Project Agreement for the improvement of South 84th Street from West Blue Mound to I94 with the updated project identification number, a copy of which is attached to Common Council File No. 151628 and is incorporated into this resolution by reference as though set forth in full; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Comptroller is hereby authorized to revise the State identification number assigned to the bridge design capital Project Grant Chartfield Value as follows:
