Title
Resolution to authorize the renaming of North Rockway Court, a private right-of-way to North Will Enterprise Court located south of West Calumet Road and west of North 84th Street, in the 9th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
Mr. Richard Will, Vice President of Will Enterprises, has requested that North Rockway Court, located south of West Calumet Road and west of North 84th Street, be renamed North Will Enterprise Court. The location and width of the street will not change. The street is located entirely on the property known as 7474 North Rockway Court (Tax Key Number 108-9994-3) and only serves this property. As provided in Chapter 113-1-4, addresses can be assigned to private streets provided that the Common Council
establishes said private street by adopting the resolution.

Whereas, Mr. Richard Will, Vice President of Will Enterprises, a business that has operated in the City of Milwaukee for the past 15 years and owns said property on which North Rockway Court is located, has requested the renaming of this private right-of-way located south of West Calumet Road and west of North 84th Street; and
Whereas, The location and width of the private right-of-way will not change; and
Whereas, Chapter 113-1 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances provides for the naming of private streets and calls for these streets to be marked with a brown street sign with the centerline legally described so that these streets can be identified on City records; and
Whereas, As a condition of adopting this resolution, Will Enterprises and Mr. Richard Will, representing the owners of Will Enterprises, is responsible for placing these brown signs in accord with Chapter 113-1 at their cost, as well as placing a stop sign on North Will Enterprise Court so that north bound traffic will stop at West Calumet Road; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that private right-of-way North Rockway Court located south of West Calumet Road and west of North 84th Street be renamed to North Will Enterprise Court and be described as follows:
North Will Enterprise Court, a private road 40 feet in width in a part of the East ½ of Government Lot 11 in the Southwest ¼ of Section 16, Township 8 North, Range 21 East, in the City of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, the centerline of which is described as follows: Commencing at the center of said Section 16 which is also the northeast corner of said ¼ section; thence South 89º 58' 20" West along the north line of said ¼ section, 628.22 feet to a point; thence South 02º 17' 18" West, 33.03 feet to a point in the present south line of West Calumet Road, said point being the point of beginning of said centerline; continuing thence South 02º 17' 18" West, 322.72 feet to a point; thence South 10º 49' 09" West 101.12 feet to a point; thence South 02º 17' 18" West, 107.19 feet to a point; thence South 38º 54' 33" East 310.00 feet to a point of termination; and, be it
Further Resolved, That City departments are authorized and directed to revise their records as appropriate to reflect the private street name change; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Engineer is authorized to assign house numbers to buildings fronting and along said private right-of-way, pursuant to Chapter 113-1 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
