Analysis

This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee has adopted the capital budgets for 1999-2002 which include the Milwaukee Water projects; and

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

3rd Aldermanic District

Linnwood Plant (WT450001200/WT450001000/WT450002100):  Security (Nonassessable Capital Improvements Fund -- $700,000)

Riverside (WT45085100/WT45005000/WT450015100/WT450025000):  Switchgear (Nonassessable Capital Improvements Fund -- $2,500,000)

Riverside (WT45085100/WT45005000/WT450015100/WT450025000):  Lead paint abatement. (Nonassessable Capital Improvements Fund -- $300,000)

13th Aldermanic District

Howard Plant (WT450003100/WT450082700/WT450014000/WT450025000):  Security (Nonassessable Capital Improvements Fund -- $600,000)

Howard Clearwell (WT450016100/WT45190100/WT450016000):  Roof repair. (Nonassessable Capital Improvements Fund -- $1,200,000)

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

6th Aldermanic District

W. Galena St. - N. 4th St. to N. 10th St. (WT410031062) File Number 020914:  Water main alteration. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $180,000)

14th Aldermanic District

Area bounded by E. Fernwood Ave., E. Oklahoma Ave., S. Illinois Ave., and S. Delaware Ave. (SW170020109) File Number 020728:  Relay combined sewer. (Nonassessable Expansion of Capacity Sewer Fund -- $1,000,000)

; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
