Title
Resolution approving an extension to the Law Enforcement and Security Services Agreement with the Milwaukee Brewers.
 
Analysis
This resolution authorizes an extension to the Law Enforcement and Security Services Agreement between the City and the Milwaukee Brewers.  That agreement was originally entered into on March 31, 2007 which was authorized pursuant to Common Council File No. 061452 adopted March 22, 2007.  Pursuant to this agreement, subsequent agreements could be entered into for additional one or two terms by mutual agreement in writing between the Milwaukee Police Department and the Milwaukee Brewers.  This extension will extend the agreement for the period December 1, 2012 through November 30, 2014, in the amount of $2,000,000.
 
Body
Whereas, The City, acting through its Chief of Police, and the Milwaukee Brewers entered into a Law Enforcement and Security Services Agreement authorized pursuant to Common Council File No. 061452 adopted March 22, 2007; and
 
Whereas, The term of the latest agreement expired on November 30, 2012; and
 
Whereas, The Common Council agreed in Common Council File No. 101287 adopted March 1, 2011 that the 2011/12 agreement could be extended in writing through mutual agreement; and
 
Whereas, The parties desire to extend the term of that agreement for an additional two year period ending November 30, 2014; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the mutual extension letter to the Law Enforcement and Security Services Grant Agreement attached to this file extending the agreement for an additional two years is approved; and be it
 
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
 
1.  Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2012 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled "Milwaukee Brewers":

2.  Create the necessary Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement;

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted for the Milwaukee Police Department which is authorized to:
  1. Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date.
