Analysis
This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.  The City cost of the projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $1,089,000.  The total estimated cost of these projects is $2,399,000.
Body
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and
 
Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:
 
2nd Aldermanic District
 
W. Thurston Ave. - N. 94th St. to N. 97th St. (ST211130200) File Number 130362:  Pedestrian walkway.  Laying concrete walk.  Doing all necessary grading pertaining to said work.  (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $15,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $20,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.
 
4th Aldermanic District
 
N. Milwaukee St. - E. Menomonee St. to E. St. Paul Ave. (ST211130173) File Number 121089:  Installation of median and special treatment.  (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $215,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $230,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.

Lincoln Ave. (SM495120085) File Number 130043:  Installing new storm sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $250,000, Additional Funds).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $1,379,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.

High Impact Streets - Asphalt resurface by contract - various locations (ST216130103) File Number 130362:  Asphalt pavement overlay.  (Nonassessable High Impact Streets -- $395,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $400,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.
 
City of Greenfield
 
S. 60th St. - W. Allerton Ave. to 1,236 feet south of W. Layton Ave. (WT410130676) File Number 120583:  Hydrant alteration.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $55,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $70,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
