This resolution appropriates $104,160 from the Contingent Fund for additional services from RCG Information Technology relative to evaluation of the City's Y2K preparedness.
BODY:
Whereas, On June 2, 1999, the Common Council approved File Number 990126, a resolution appropriating $125,000 from the 1999 Common Council Contingent Fund to retain a consultant to perform an independent evaluation of the City's Year 2000 preparedness; and
 
Whereas, Utilizing a Request for Proposal process, RCG Information Technology was selected, and a contract was executed requiring RCG to submit a report to the Common Council evaluating the City's Y2K preparedness by September 3, 1999, and to make a presentation of its report to the appropriate Common Council Committee before October 1, 1999; and
 
Whereas, The Common Council's consultant selection team and staff reviewed a draft report presented by RCG Information Technology and determined that more information and test plans are required from City departments involved in critical missions to determine their levels of Y2K compliance; and
 
Whereas, In light of the consultant selection team and staff review, the Common Council has determined that additional services from the consultant are necessary relative to establishing Y2K compliance of the City critical systems; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer $104,160 from the 1999 Common Council Contingent Fund to the special account established by Common Council File Number 990126 within the Contingent Fund, for the purpose of procuring a consultant to evaluate the city's Y2K efforts, for additional services to be performed by RCG Information Technology as an addendum to Contract Number C131990002 for an evaluation of the City's Y2K preparedness; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the appropriate City officials are authorized to draft and execute an addendum to the contract requiring RCG to include the following in its final report to the Common Council.
 
1. Criteria for demonstrating successful Y2K compliance for the City's critical systems.
 
2. Criteria for evaluating and certifying Y2K compliance completion thus far.
 
3. Create a model to complete incomplete Y2K compliance testing.
 
; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the due date for submission of the consultant's final report shall be changed from September 3 to October 1, 1999, and the consultant shall make at least one presentation of its final report to the appropriate Common Council committee by November 1 instead of October 1, 1999; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the additional funding shall be appropriated to the existing account established in the City Clerk's budget under File Number 990126.
