Adoption of this resolution directs the Commissioner of the Department of City Development to dispose of this property in accordance with the ordinance governing the sale of surplus property.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee sold this property to a community based organization and title revested in the City's name by virtue of a reversionary clause for failure to make it code compliant; and
 
Whereas, The Commissioner of the Department of City Development recommends sale of this property in "as is" condition, with no warranties or financial assistance provided to the highest bidder above $1,000; and
 
Whereas, The buyer shall be required to restore the property in a manner respecting the historic significance of the property and the historic character of the area and also agrees to be a homeowner/occupant; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Department of City Development is directed to sell the improved property located at 2804 West State Street, Tax Roll Key No. 388-1544-2, via receival of the highest acceptable offer meeting or exceeding $1,000 to a homeowner/occupant; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the proper City officials are authorized and directed to perform such acts as may be required to consummate the sale and that the proceeds be credited to the City Property Account No. 01-191- 9944; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That said property shall be brought into compliance with applicable building codes within the time specified by the Building Inspection Department or said property may revert back to the ownership of the City of Milwaukee upon action by the Common Council.
