Title

Substitute resolution approving construction of nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City construction cost estimated to be $7,152,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $7,589,000.

Analysis

This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.  The City cost of the projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $6,957,000.  The total estimated cost of these projects is $7,152,000.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and

 

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

 

 

1st Aldermanic District

 

N. 28th St. - W. Fairmount Ave. to W. Lincoln Creek Pkwy  (SM499220010) Installing Brick Pavers.  (Storm Water Quality - Nonassessable Water Quality Projects to meet TMDL Requirements -- $195,000) The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $200,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2022 construction season.

 

5th Aldermanic District

 

W. Burleigh St. - N. 88th St. to N. 92nd St. (WT410220690) File Number 201552: Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $0.  Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $660,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $685,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2022 construction season. 

 

N. 86th St. - W. Locust St. (South Line) to W. Burleigh St. (South Line) (WT410220692) File Number 201552: Relaying water main. Replace Original Service.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $0.  Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $405,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $430,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2022 construction season. 

 

N. 89th St. - 475’ south of W. Burleigh St. to W. Burleigh St.  (WT410220691) File Number 201552: Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $0.  Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $170,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $185,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2022 construction season. 

 

10th Aldermanic District

 

N. 51st. St. - 245’ +/- south of W. Lloyd St. to W. Lloyd St. (SM495210056) File Number 210701:  Relaying combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $77,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $89,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2022 construction season.

ADA ramps for 2022 High impact paving north-side projects: (ST216210111) File Number 210701: Replace curb and gutter and sidewalk as necessary (Nonassessable High Impact Paving Fund - $925,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $1,000,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2022 construction season.

High impact paving: N. 56th St., N. 66th St., N. 70th St., N. 80th St., N. 82nd St., N.104th St., W. Appleton Av./Pl., W. Port Av.(ST216220101) File Number: 211199: Asphalt surface overlay. (Nonassessable High Impact Paving Fund -- $950,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $1,000,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2022 construction season.

 

High impact paving: N. 7th St., N. 13th St., N. 32nd St., N. 47th St., N. 51st St., N. Hopkins St., W. Locust St., W. Melvina St. (ST216220102) File Number 211199: Asphalt surface overlay. (Nonassessable High Impact Paving Fund -- $760,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $800,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2022 construction season.

 

High impact paving: E. Juneau Av., E. Kane Pl., E. Knapp St., W. Pierce St., E. Royall Pl., W. Vliet St. (ST216220103) File Number 211199: Asphalt surface overlay. (Nonassessable High Impact Paving Fund -- $1,235,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $1,300,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2022 construction season.

 

High impact paving: S.71st, S. Avalon St., W. Burdick Av., E. Carol St., W. Euclid Av., W. Granada St., W. Green Av., W. Lakefield Dr., W. Lincoln Av., E. Rhode Island Av., W. Tripoli Av, W. Upham St. (ST216220104) File Number 211199: Asphalt surface overlay. (Nonassessable High Impact Paving Fund -- $850,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $900,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2022 construction season.

 

now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
