Title

Resolution permitting a minor modification to the Detailed Planned Development (DPD) known as Rivercrest, on land located on the South Side of North Commerce Street and East of North Humboldt Avenue, in the 6th Aldermanic District.

Analysis

This resolution will allow for a change in the previously approved lower level concrete retaining walls to a modular block system with finished limestone cap along East Riverboat Road.

Body

Whereas, Section 295-814(5) of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances permits modifications to planned developments after approval of the Common Council; and

 

Whereas, The third amendment to the detailed plan for a planned development known as Rivercrest was approved by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee on September 23, 2003, under File No. 020632 to allow for the construction of multi-family residential units and open space in the Beerline “C” Redevelopment Area; and

 

Whereas, The Developer proposes to revise the material of the previously approved retaining walls from concrete to a modular block wall system with a finished limestone cap and additional landscaping to accommodate the steep slopes of the site; and

 

Whereas, The proposed revision to the material of the retaining wall is generally consistent with the spirit and intent of the approved detailed plan, will not adversely affect surrounding development and a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File as Exhibit A which is on file in the office of the City Clerk and made a part as though fully set forth herein; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the minor modification to allow for a change in the previously approved lower level concrete retaining walls to a modular block system with finished limestone cap along East Riverboat Road that was not previously approved as part of the Detailed Planned Development is approved.
