Analysis

This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.  The City cost of the projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $7,733,300.  The total estimated cost of these projects is $8,562,800.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and

 

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

 

2nd Aldermanic District

 

Alley between W. Armitage Ave., W. Constance Ave., W. Fond du Lac Ave., and W. Leon Terr. (SM495120119) File Number 121216: Storm sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000, Additional Funds ). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $29,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.

 

2nd and 7th Aldermanic Districts

 

Area bounded by N. 51st Blvd., N. 60th St., W. Keefe Ave., and W. Capitol Dr. (#10) (SM494120203) File Number 121420:  Sanitary sewer lining.  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $1,300,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $1,325,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.

 

3rd Aldermanic District

 

N. Market St. - E. Knapp St. to N. Water St. (TD04884035) File Number 011182:  Paving the roadway with concrete.  Laying a concrete curb and gutter.  Laying concrete sidewalk.  Doing all the necessary grading pertaining to said work.  (TID Nonassessable Paving Fund -- $138,000).  The total estimated cost for this project is $138,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.

Lapham St. - S. 37th St. to S. 38th St. (SM495120121) File Number 120982:  Relay storm sewer and relay sanitary sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $149,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $161,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.

 

W. Scott St. - S. 28th St. to S. 29th St. (SM495120124) File Number 121091:  Relay combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $160,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $172,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.

 

S. 30th St. - W. National Ave. to W. Pierce St. (SM495110078) File Number 111474:  Relay combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $170,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $185,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.

Greenfield Ave. (SM495120062) File Number 111474:  Relay combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $163,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $175,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.

W. Pierce St. - S. Cesar Chavez Dr. to W. Reynolds Pl. (SM495120123) File Number 121552:  Combined large diameter sewer lining.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $383,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $384,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.

N. 107th St. - W. Brown Deer Rd. to W. County Line Rd. (WT410120004) File Number 111474:  Relaying water main and water main alteration.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $88,000, Additional Funds; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $232,500, Additional Funds).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $700,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.

N. 36th St. - W. Lisbon Ave. to 200 feet m/l north of W. Lloyd St. (SM495120057) File Number 120371:  Relay combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $224,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $236,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.

 

City Wide

 

2013 Sanitary Manhole Rehabilitation (SM494130102) File Number 121091:  Sanitary manhole inspection.  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $775,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $800,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
