The code prohibits the possession or consumption of alcohol beverages upon any public parking structure or public parking surface lot, unless a waiver is granted by Common Council resolution for a particular special event. This resolution grants a waiver for the serving of alcohol beverages at a tailgate party to be held on the top level of The Grand Avenue's parking structure on Friday, July 18, 1997.
BODY:
Whereas, On July 11, 1997, the Common Council passed File Number 970498, an ordinance relating to drinking upon public parking structures and surface lots; and
Whereas, The ordinance provides that the Common Council may grant a waiver by resolution from the prohibition relating to possession or consumption of alcohol beverages on public parking structures or public parking surface lots, for certain special events; and
Whereas, The Grand Avenue, in conjunction with the Westown Association, is holding a Roof-Top Tailgate Party on the top level of the Grand Avenue's parking structure on Friday, July 18, 1997, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that notwithstanding the provisions of Section 106-2.1 of the code prohibiting the possession or consumption of alcohol beverages upon any public parking structure or public parking surface lot, the Common Council hereby grants a waiver authorizing the serving of alcohol beverages on the Grand Avenue's parking structure for this particular special event; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City of Milwaukee shall not be held responsible for any personal injury or property damage in connection with this event; and, be it
Further Resolved, That adoption of this resolution is contingent upon passage of File Number 970498, an ordinance relating to drinking upon public parking structures and surface lots.
