Whereas, Claimant Joseph C. Blakeman has filed a complaint with the Eastern District of Wisconsin, Case Number 23-CV-0097; a complaint with the State of Wisconsin Equal Rights Division, Case Number CR202200265, and the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Case Number 26G202200480; and a complaint with the State of Wisconsin Equal Rights Division, Case Number CR202302981, and the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Case Number 26G202400392; alleging various state and federal law claims (the “Claims”); and
Whereas, Claimant has named individual Respondent City of Milwaukee; and
Whereas, the parties wish to resolve the Claims and any and all future claims without the expense and disruption of further litigation between them by amicably entering into this full and final settlement as to all claims Claimant may have against the Respondent, and any other current or former City of Milwaukee officials, agents or employees in connection with the underlying incidents; now, therefore be it
Resolved, by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $64,000, payable to the order of Cross Law Firm, S.C. Client Trust Account, 845 N. 11th St., Milwaukee, WI 53233, as soon as practicable, said amount to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 0001-1490-S118-006300; and be it
Further Resolved, that for and in consideration of the above-referenced payment, the Claimant, by his representatives, and his attorneys, will provide to the City a release of any and all claims arising out of or in any way related to these incidents - along with any and all future claims and an agreement not to seek work with the City in the future.
