Title

Analysis

This resolution directs appropriate City officials to enter into an agreement with Crime Stoppers for the creation of a Crime Stoppers program within the 9^th Aldermanic District to serve the city, and to appropriate $2,500 from the Community and Economic Development Committee fund as seed money for this purpose.

Whereas, Milwaukee Crime Stoppers is a non-profit and tax-exempt charitable organization, governed by a Board of Directors, which is comprised of volunteers interested in assisting law enforcement agencies in their ongoing efforts to detect and prevent crime; and

Body

Whereas, Milwaukee Crime Stoppers has agreed to establish a Crime Stoppers program in Milwaukee; and

Whereas, The Crime Stopper program shall be located within the 9^th Aldermanic District and serve the city; and

Whereas, It is in the best interest of the City of Milwaukee that a partnership be established between itself and Milwaukee Crime Stoppers for this purpose; now, therefore be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the appropriate City officials are directed to execute an agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Crime Stoppers for the creation of a Crime Stoppers program within the 9^th Aldermanic District to serve the city in a form substantially similar to the memorandum of understanding attached to this file; and, be it

Further Resolved, That $2,500 shall be appropriated from the Community and Economic Development Committee fund (0001 1310 S123 006300) as seed money for this purpose; and, be it.

Further Resolved, That the appropriate City officials are directed to take those steps necessary to implement this resolution.
